Monel 400 Alloy is a kind of nickel-based alloy material with good corrosion resistance in seawater, chemical solvents, ammonia, sulfur, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, various acidic media such as sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, organic acid, alkaline media, salt and molten salt, etc. Meanwhile, Monel 400 Alloy also has good mechanical properties, a wide range of temperatures from low to high temperature, good welding performance and medium and high strength.

Different Names for Monel 400 Alloy: UNS N04400, W.Nr 2.4360, MCu-28-1.5-1.8, Ni68Cu28Fe.

Main Applications for Monel 400 Alloy:

Monel 400 Alloy is mainly used in the fields of chemistry, petroleum chemistry and Marine exploitation. Besides, Monel 400 alloy is popular as raw material for construction of a variety of heat exchanger equipment, boiler feed heaters, oil and chemical pipelines, vessels, towers, tanks, valves, pumps, reactors, shafts, etc.

Processing and Welding Ability:

Monel 400 Alloy can be machined in the same way as traditional iron-based materials. If machining with high speed machine, water cooling would be necessary. Monel 400 alloy may shrink during processing, so attention should be paid to the shrinkage allowance to ensure dimensional accuracy. Besides, Monel 400 alloy is with good welding performance, available with TIG and MIG welding method, welding wires can be Monel body or ENICU-7, also available with manual arc welding or submerged arc welding; In normal Monel 400 alloy can be welded together with carbon steel and low alloy steel.
