Titanium Grade 5 Alloy is treated as one of most popular Titanium Alloy in kinds of applications, according to different standards, Grade 5 titanium alloy is also named Ti-6Al-4V, UNS R56400, BT6C, TC4, TiAl6V4, etc. Grade 5 titanium alloy can offer good performance in welding process under temperature less than 325℃. Comparing with other metal alloys, Grade 5 titanium alloy has lighter weight and can also be with high strength. Besides, this titanium alloy has good corrosion resistance and formability when machining. 

Grade 5 titanium alloy is a kind of α type titanium alloy. This kind of alloy exhibits α type single-phase state at room temperature and service temperature, and cannot be strengthened by heat treatment (annealing is the only form of heat treatment), mainly relying on solid solution strengthening. The strength of Grade 5 titanium alloy at room temperature is generally lower than that of β '> and α+β titanium alloys (but higher than that of industrial pure titanium), while the strength and creep strength under high temperature (500-600℃) are the highest among the three titanium alloys.  The structure of Grade 5 titanium alloy is stable, oxidation resistance and welding performance is good, corrosion resistance and machinability is also good, while the plasticity is low (thermoplastic is still good), room temperature stamping performance is poor. Grade 5, Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Alloy’s tensile strength is slightly higher than industrial pure titanium, can be used as a medium strength range of structural materials.
